Given thoughts on the question about Why You Are Deserving to be the 1st Pinoy Fear Factor? Cardiac Arrest Victimized Tan's Father

I received a text from Maileen Tan to pray the soul of her father. I am not sure if it's her lolo or her dad but the latter was confirmed to me by maileen to be dead because of a cardaic arrest 5pm Saturday. I felt so lamented thinking that there are still such great opportunities for Maileen to enjoy thinking that her dad would enjoy the same happiness likewise, one of which is passing the NLE Exams.

Well Janmark also had a teary-eyed I guess because they seem to have the same acenario. As Maileen said "It was so sudden that I never had the chance to properly say goddbye to him". Cardiac Arrest kills thousand of people every year and I think the lesson we have here is that we really dont own our lives and we do not know if when is the time. Now, is the time to let your loved-ones feel you love them merely by doing something with affection.

The interment is at Rolling Hills Memorial Chapel and the Burial Rites will be on July 2 Sunday. From the BSN4D Family, We wholeheartedly extend our deep condolences to the Tan Family and to the people who is grieving for a loss of a loved-one...feel free to express your condolence just contact Mai2 at 09202738000.

A Piano So Wrong At a Wedding Ceremony

I was so not prepared when my mom told me yesterday morning that I will be playing the piano for the wedding at 4pm. I was shocked with seethed curiousity and ill-disguised excitement and I search daintily on my sisters file of piano sheets to find only 2 noble sheets, Gaano Kita Kamahal and My Heart Will Go On.

I hurriedly practiced the piano sheets in my Aunt's place who happens to have a piano. I barely had less than 3 hours to practice and with so much vigor I luckily to have mastered My Heart Will Go On but a so-so performance on Gaano Kita Kamahal.

While at the wedding ceremony, I preluded songs from the church and the opening hymn. I was told to play love songs while the couple is signing their marriage contract. I was on the verge of so much pressure and when the moment where I was told to play, the Gaano Kita Kamahal sheet was lying askew on the piano sheet bar and eventually dropped down, so I have to shift song to what I am really an expert of without a piano piece, and I played Tell Me by Side A. I played it beautifully without a glitch
and after a moment someone told me that the song was for broken-hearted and I just suddenly run through the lyrics and OH MY GOD..it really is..

I was so embarassed but well I learn from my mistake. I just recovered the last part of the ceremony where I played My Heart Will Go On and Gaano Kita Kamahal splendidly and some were singing while I was playing..It made me feel good but I was embarrased of what I played, on the second note I have to understand the lyrics.hehe.

Chapter 3: Class Prophecy

The papers are disheveled in the Dean’s desk along with a number of seniors piling up and crowding the lobby of once was Ms. Mads office. There were a lot of laughter, some are verbalizing curse-words to the Dean, and I saw few people crying, and some are just waiting like they don’t know what to do.
It’s been almost quite so many years that I never returned to my Alma Mater. It still looks old, quiet, and nothing new in particular. The lobby was still there with fresh memories of everyone running during breaks and sneaking out with their bags to escape a dull, tedious, boring instructor.
Few steps away and I will be approaching the crystal window glass of the office when I accidentally bumped someone who is an instructor and tipped over the whole mimeographed of what seemed to be a qualifying exam.
“Ay, hala so sorry guid”, those were the words came out from my mouth as I help herwith the questionnaires.
“Jessa? she gasped.
“Thesa, what are you doing here?
We are about to stand as she started to talk. “Well, I’m the Academic Coordinator now and it actually feels great to be the successor of Jimenez and Garzon, what have you been up to? It’s so nice to see you back.
“Yeah’ but have you received a mail about –
“– about the reunion? Yes’ we’re coming. Dean Marcial, George and me will go together”
“Oh’ this is really going to be fun, you mentioned George what about her?”
“Ay indi gid magpalibak, ari siya Jes hu’ I have to go I still have to meet with Father President but I’ll see you around and I’ll be joining with you for lunch.
“Sure! – Georgina’ how are you? It’s so nice to see you.”
“Same here’ Jes, I am so damn busy right now. I am currently one of the Board of Directors of Doctors Hospital and at the same time Asst. to the Dean. What about you? you look dashing like you still have that figure 10 years ago.
“Haha’ well I am the Chief Nurse of a Tertiary Hospital in Saudi Arabia and currently I am helping other Filipino nurses to acquire jobs abroad and now I will be the Guest Speaker for the graduation.”
“Oh, you have to met Dean – she’s waiting for you when I left her office. You’re our best choice to speak as inspiration for our future nurses and I’ll join you for lunch and were going to Hawaii, but right now go straight this path and enter the left wing cause Jarine is waiting.
“Thank you so much, George”.
“You’re very welcome. See you around.”
It was the same faculty room with a lot of tables looking unkempt in their own places. The curtains and the walls were defiled but noticeable laptops were perfect as well as the big screen on the center that you would think you were inside Central Intelligence Agency, and you know what? There are monitor cameras in every classroom from Nal-1 down to Nal-10…this department is so futuristic in nature.
I enter the Dean’s Office and the Dean was inside the lavatory. I waited at the scarlet settee and beside me was a water fountain that it feels like I’m inside a spa in Japan. Speaking of Japan, I still have to catch a classmate for a seminar in Alternative Medicines
“Jarine? Oh my God, you look exactly like Marybeth 10 years ago.
“Why the hell didn’t you call me that you already arrived? I should have picked you up at the airport.
“Ja, I just want to surprise you.
“and yes, you did. Come on’ lets get outside and we’ll have a long chika-chika.”
---------------------------------------------------
The Board of Nursing committees were all set in the boardroom as some were brushing up the minutes of the meeting and the altercated memorandum. Everyone seems to be excited to talk about revisions in the NLE and how the two-day exam with seven test parts would affect the 2018 June NLE examiners. People are agreeing and disagreeing about the Chairman of the Board judgment to add the transcultural nursing as a Part VI and the Jurisprudence Nursing as Part VII making it seven hundred items infused in two days exam.
All these cannot be put into action as they all looking at the clock and the empty seat of the Chairman of the Board of Nursing.
“Good Morning, Ms. Chairman” I said.
“Nyce, you don’t have to address me as a chairman, just call me Jos’ like what you always call me back at college’.
“Well, it’s a bit different now, Jos’ you’re the Chairman of the BON and soon to be Mrs. Decena”, I replied.
“It’s not yet final, and now look at you Nyce, you’re the only part of the Board of Nursing who has a Ph.D. in Psychiatrics and in fact graduated the Masters at Stanford University”
“Well I think luck just got me here”.
“I don’t think so, by the way why don’t you rundown a discussion on all the revisions you agreed because at the moment I will have a meeting with the DOH Secretary and I’ll see you guys later for the final provisioning.”

At the Office of the Department of Health
“Hi, I have an appointment with Secretary Occeno pls.”
“One moment please Chairman Dinorog, he’s currently in talks with the Red Cross President”
“Oh, I guess I am a part of that meeting..
“Oh so sorry, you can come in.”
--------------------------------------------------------
The Office was totally like his room. It has full of papers and genuine expensive material display on the top of every shelves. It was a small office but very visible.
“Good Morning Mr. Secretary”
“Oh, it’s nice to have both of you here; Ok then, let’s start the wedding ceremony.”
“What?” bellowed Josie.
“Just kidding, well Frank seems to be happy to hear it. After of his so many years in the Red Cross as a volunteer and become an EMT in America and so blessed to become a part of the famous Rescue 199, he’s now the Phil. Red Cross President and the UN Red Cross Officer and how can you not marry him?”
“Well Mr. Secretary I think its 911 not 199” Frank said with a sheer of laughter.
“Whatever number it is, I invited you both because I want you to gather all your resources to control and eradicate the widely spread of Malaria disease in Mindanao. You can contact some of our other classmates who could help and anyone who could aid in the eradication of this killer disease as soon as possible”
“When is the target date Sec.?” Josie asked.
“It should be next month, but since we will be attending our big reunion next month and I know for sure both of you will be there, I moved the Oplan Malaria date next week but sad to say I cant be on the mission because I will be meeting some important people of Asia about alternative medicine and wellness therapy.”
“Well next week is a good target, we’ll be gathering up all our resources immediately as soon as we have the national budget.” Said Frank.
“I will be contacting the PNA as well as the Universities in Mindanao especially the nursing students to aid in this mission.” Josie added.
“Well, that’s great to hear’ just give me a call if there’s any problem because I’m sure by that time I’ll be in China.”
------------------------------------------------------

I am not even in the deepest state of my plane slumber when I feel the altitude lowering down. I thought maybe there’s going to be a crash but when I hear the attendant’s voice over, hmm.it’s not that long going to China. I am still mystified by Chinese letters everywhere and my first stop is to meet Maileen Tan at Shanghai for the Alternative Medicine Convention.
Shanghai is really a very modern city and the convention area was so crowded and attended by so many delegates from all over the world. I came to approach Maileen at the side of the podium preparing her report materials.
“Maileen, you look lovely”
“Oh’ Sec. Occeno, thank you so much for coming it is really a pleasure”
“It is indeed my pleasure. I never thought this convention would really be this big”
“Yeah, I never thought as well, after my experiences as a pharmacist in the Philippines, I have brought to mind that we should develop alternative medicines that are indigenous to our surroundings and after so many years of my nursing experience in Wellness Center in Beijing, I have laid out researches about alternative medicine and guess what?”
“What? Haha” I asked back.
“I will be going to Geneva, Switzerland to present my research to the World Health Organization Headquarters and I am hoping that it’s gonna be accepted but well of course I will be attending our reunion in Maui first to take a break and then I’m off to Switzerland.” she proudly exclaimed.
“Wow that is so cool. I might as well listen eagerly because I can share this to many of Filipinos right now who could be spending so much in medicines alone’
“Exactly, well I think we should start and I’ll be seeing you after the report”
“Sure, no problem.”
-----------------------------------------------
It never came to me how imperative Ms. Tan’s report had been, it was so true and so correct that my next person to visit would somehow love these reports to infuse in her own research as well. Seoul, South Korea had at no time been this busy. Well it’s always been teeming but it’s never been this busy maybe because of winter and rush hour. After such a very exhausting walk from the metro, I arrived at the National Rehabilitation Research and Hospital Institute and I was welcomed by their Nursing Service Director, Xenia Dee M. Tolentino.
“Oh My God Sec. Occeno, I am so sorry I never had the time to pick you up at the Seoul International Airport”
“No, no, it’s okay…I enjoyed Seoul so much, It’s like the Chicago of Asia.”
“Thank you, let’s come to my office and have some refreshment”.
I went inside Mrs. Tolentino’s office. It was a huge modern inspired office with nice backdrop nature lay-outs and a so contemporary furnishing.
“Your office is so cool Xen!” I remarked.
“Thanks, this is actually my husband’s idea. After I was promoted to be the Nursing Service Director, we came up with the idea of having both a working office and a cozy after-work place because at any circumstance you could be working 16-24 hour shifts.”
“Right, very nice idea at what accompanies that very nice idea is a nice collection of reports coming from Ms. Tan who would love to conduct a seminar here in Korea and I guess it would be nice to include some of her ideas in your research and assemblies”
“Thank you so much Mr. Occeno, actually I am supposed to get these reports personally but I just can’t book a flight from Bussan direct to Beijing. I was in Bussan for a symposium and I badly want to come to Beijing but there’s no chance at all.”
“It’s okay, it’s a good thing I have delivered the reports to you personally and I had the chance to check out your place.”
“Well this report is a big help for my presentation January next year at Switzerland in World Health Organization and I’ll be doing a symposium tomorrow about therapeutic rehabilitation and you are definitely have to come.”
“As much as I would love to Xen, I still have to visit another classmate at Tokyo and I already have booked a flight to depart tomorrow morning”
“Oh, so this means you’ll only be staying her overnight. Too bad, but let’s just make this a memorable one, I’ll phone Delvi to come and we’ll tour you up in the whole Seoul now.”
------------------------------
Tokyo is even more overcrowded since I last arrived here two years ago. In spite of this, standing here in the busiest street of Tokyo feels renowned. I have to get a cab from the metropolitan area to the Tokyo Wellness and Children’s Center.
“Surprise!” I said as soon as I enter his workplace.
“Kokac! wow’ the Sec. of DOH visits me”
“Shut up, Marlon. Look at you’ you’re the nurse supervisor of the largest wellness and children’s center in Asia.”
“Haha, just got lucky, so what brought you here, you really damn surprise me Dude’”
“I have to hand-in Ms. Tan’s report. She thinks this could help in the research program of your center.”
“Yes, yes’ I knew it. She phoned me to invite me about the convention but it just cant fit in my schedule. These reports will really help the center now that we are considering alternative medicine and therapies for rehabilitation.”
“Good to know, what about your anime’ life?”
“Haha, kinda forget about that DOTA days at Daj. I’m more focusing on my research on stem-cell and genetics.”
“Whew’ still a cum-laude by mind.”
“Haha. NO! Actually, I just phoned Janmark a while ago because he’s the chief nurse geneticist in South America’s largest Genetics Lab in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and he said he will 100% support me in putting up a stem-cell lab here in Tokyo”
“That so cool’ maybe I can develop that in the Philippines as well”
“Why not. After all many intelligent Filipinos have based backgrounds in genetics”
“Yeah. I’ll think about that.”
“Oh’ I heard about the reunion at Hawaii. I am going to drop to Russia first to met Aaron and then well both go together, but now I will take you to Tokyo Disneyland, let’s be childish again...”
“Yeah...Let’s kick some ass.”

Made of Honor: Two Thumbs Up

I was actually trying to find a cheap Globe Retailer Sim and my feet happens to put me in the South Wing of SM. It was so boring, tiring, starving, walking all alone at a very vast mall and so I just decided to take a rest and catch a movie now that I am staring at a flashing cinema details. I can't watch Incredible Hulk, there's just no way because it's too unrealistic, Get Smart with Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell is interesting but it's 70pesos so I cant buy a snack then. Kung Fu Panda is too childish although its not bad to be childish at some point in your life but the fact that it's 70pesos and I dont adore watching animations in wide screen since my last animated film watched on cinema was Finding Nemo..haha ( 4 years ago). So I was left with Made of Honor a love story starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan. I like Patrick Dempsey because of Grey's Anatomy and Enchanted and Michelle because I think she's the sister of Bridget Monaghan and what's interesting is that it's only 55pesos. Oh my God'...its a perfect package, with an extra 80 pesos in my wallet, I had the luxury of having a snack and a movie all at once.

The movie started very usual, the ingredient of all love story I think is connection and I think that was achieved during the first part. It's actually a story of Tom(Patrick Dempsey) and Hanah(Michelle Monaghan) who happens to be bestfriends and one day Hannah went to Scotland and when she arrived she was engaged to a Scottish man and she invited Tom to be her Maid of Honor. It's a very simple story but its was presented with rich moments althought it may seem pretty predictable however with a great script, great director and great actors, a movie may it be predictable it would
always be memorable and I think Made of Honor is one of those few Hollywood Romantic Movies who has the right blend of comedy, drama, and romance. It's not surprising that it left some ladies, students, and people sitting to beside me even I to drop a tear because of it's catching romantically emotional moments. I think as an aspiring filmmaker someday, It's nice to acquaint yourself in films who could influence you to draw emotions and target an audience. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, be sure to catch it on your nearest cinema's, you surely will enjoy.

Maru: Cagayan's Newest Clinical Instructor

At a start of the 2008 Class Opening, It is also a start of a new career for Mary Cris Anne Lobo Maru who is the newest clinical instructor of a school in Cagayan De Oro. Why someone who has a name Cris seems to be progressing fast these days in their chosen field, isnt' it the next lucky Cris would be Cris Martin or is it time for the Grace's to evolved..Donna Grace...Omega Grace...Sheena Grace or who knows maybe it's time of the famous CATHERINE GRACE who never took the board. Obviously, some of BSN4D's are really on to the next level of their chosen careers, but whatever it is and wherever you are, let's just not forget that once in your life you have become a BSN4D who value the best in everything. Good Luck.

My Bet Ejay Falcon: Everybody's Winner

It was always an argument to some of my friends why I had picked Ejay Falcon to be my Big Winner. A lot of them is actually voting for Robi and few were for Nicole and Beauty but I was the only one I knew who had picked Ejay Falcon as my bet since day 1. A classmate of mine who were for Robi said that Ejay won because PBB is for the poor; my answer is No..Not at all, even if Ejay happens to be rich with that values around him, I am certain that many of the people will chose him because of his plainness and a very transparent personality. Another classmate of mine said that there was a manipulation of votes because he is poor and deserves the prize and one of my friend also said he just got so lucky and let's see where it could take him.

First, there is no manipulation of votes because I am sure that many of the youth today can relate to what Mr. Falcon's life is or even having the same road with him not surprisingly that his votes went as high as 600,000+ and yet if Robi won people would say there's a buying of votes because his family is rich_we should not suppose to entertain uncertain streotypes.

Second, PBB is not a Star Search but since the nature of Fiipinos is to really know the story of one's life it became an entertainment to us giving its way for housemates to enter stardom. Many of the past winners happen to continue with their life and we always had a choice, it doesnt have to always mean that if you are a Big Winner and not seen on tv too often you will have a failure and a miserable life...many of the past winners happen to only have few unstable exposures but they seem to be very satisfied with their life like Beatriz Saw, Ruben Gonzaga. and Nene Tamayo.

I acknowledge the feeling of some because I have been in that exact same spot last 2006 when Mikee Lee ended up 2nd Teen Placer only making Kim Chiu the Teen Big Winner. Ejay Falcon welcomed us into his life that we may ponder it into our inner self that despite of imperfections, our dreams will always lead us to our personal progress. We all have our own discernments and considered opinion but whatever or wherever it would take us, I am very much pleased that the Pinoy Big Brother reality show has opened its doors for Filipinos to exercise their thoughts and rationality even brought some Pinoys to a vision they never even dared to dream.

Muyco Trying to Move on At a Loss of Samsung Phone.

Another June NLE Taker will be sad because of a lost cellphone this time after the board. For Muyco, it was ok to have a lost phone because it can always be replaced but the fact that the phone was actually given by her mother at the expense of her own sweat was really such a big deal. The slide-up phone was actually snatched at the hands of Muyco as she was texting along the busy streets of Iloilo. Its a good thing that she didnt tried to battle the phone out because its always your life is at stake but as I have said earlier in Abang's article..Its okay for me to lost a cellphone as long as I'll become an RN_a phone can always be replaced but passing the NLE can-not.

Abang: "I Hate the Taxi"

After hurrying to be in their testing sites first day of June NLE, Abang didnt have the luxuryto attend to her personal things anymore. "I was so anxious, and i was pretty nervous that I didnt notice my cellphone. Im not sure but maybe it slipped right through my pocket and I hardly noticed it after-all", she said. The Nokia phone was actually given by her father and \as far as I can remember this is the second time that Abang had lost a phone...the previous was in Kabankalan and the latter was in Iloilo. Its okay for me to lost a cellphone as long as I'll become an RN_a phone can always be replaced but passing the NLE can-not.

Decena, Vivas and Amity: Official Guards of Air Supply Concert.

Vivas was extremely in bliss after ABS-CBN officially announced that AMITY Volunteer Brigade will be officially the rescuer guarding team for the Air Supply Concert on June 18. In short, Vivas will get the chance of watching the show for free - for FREE. Wow, very lucky to have that opportunity. This is really the 1st Time that someone so popular did a concert here. I love the songs of Air Supply but too bad the general admission ticket was I think 500. Maybe I'll catch Vivas then. haha.

HOW - A Question of a Struggling Filipino Nurse.

There are almost 500,000 professional Filipino nurses and only a few percentage of this number is currently practicing their profession. What happened to the Filipino Nurse of Today, Where are we going? What lies ahead?

I personally chose this profession because of the increasing demand of nurses abroad. As a Filipino who happens to be a third world country, I believe that it is right to think that you want to progress and help your struggling family in terms of working abroad and earning much higher salary. That is a typical thinking of a young Filipino nurse and I think a lot of young nurses today happens to be in the same road.

For almost five years of spending thousands and thousands of pesos, struggling to pass all the requirements, and making your way to become an RN, Where are we now? It seems to me that our goal to professional life is lurking behind the bush. Yes, few will say that you have to wait because there are due processes that has to be
observed, there are decorums to be done and theres always an effort to battle out. My question is when? When can we taste the fruit of our labours? When can we provide the best for our family? When can we progress our individuality in our chosen profession?
Five or ten years from now is your answer...five or ten years from now when the kilo of rice is 100.00, when the transportation fare is 20.00, or when our family sacrifices the education of other siblings because if increasing tuition fees.

My fellow nurses, we are the hope of our fellowmen, country, and our family. How can we do this if we cannot affort to submit ourselves to volunteer in a hospital where there is no salary and nonetheless you submit in the burden of paying training fees and everyday allowance. How can we do this if the NCLEX itself is very expensive. How can we do this if the first world countries are starting to become rigorous and closing its doors to accept overseas professional nurses. Even I myself dont know the answer. I have many dreams..wonderful dreams, but its sad to think that they are slowly washing away. I know its very hard today but its even harder five or ten years from now if today youre not making any action. I acknowledge all the feeling because I myself has been a victim of this professional turmoil of nurses.

We are torn between serving and earning. Make a Stand and Learn It, Live It, Love it.
In the end, It can always be both happily serving and productively earning

Picture of the Month: "Acetate Attack"

I really remember this picture. It was taken during our bored NCM classes along the silent hidden room of NAL-5. What the hell? look at all those pretty and handsome young faces...haha, but mind you..DONNA PLOTENA BLOWN thie scene away.
